Teh Si and Sugar Cane

Restaurant Da Tuan Yuan @ Bandar Baru Klang

Da Tuan Yuan
No.22G, Jalan Tiara 2D/KU1,
Pusat Perniagaan BBK,
41150 Klang, Selangor.

Tel:
03-3342 9309

Da Tuan Yuan is located at shop lot area opposite Jusco Bukit Raja whereby you need to go down the bridge after Klang Tol if you are coming from Federal Highway. Turn right under the bridge and left into Persiaran Bukit Raja whereby you will spot Jusco on you left and the shop lot area is on the right. There are many restaurant around that area including Windmill, RT Bakery, Korean BBQ and Japanese Restaurant for your delight.

Due to our late arrival, we are unable to try their famous soy drink as it been sold out at that moment. So if you ever do visit the place do try asking whether they have it a not.

Recommended by many folks from Klang that the place was quite nice and which not surprise the place is crowded with people. Although we reach there bout 9.00pm Saturday but we still do see many people still enjoying their dinner.

Sweet Sour Pork (Average)

Superior Soup Lala (Nice)
- the lala was really not bad but guess the chef is bit tired so forget to drop more Chinese wine to bring up the flavour better -

Steam Salted Chicken (Average)
- the chicken is rather dry salty so if there is more salty gravy to go with it should be better, in my perception -

Steam Ginger Fish (Nice)
- the gingery gravy is really nice and competitive against the ginger serving in Restaurant Yat Moon, (Klang) -

Butter mantis prawn (slightly disappointing)
- nothing come close to Restaurant Boston Baru Klang -

Stir Fried Long Bean (Average)

Credits given to their LALA and FISH as is correctly being claim nice. Apart from the dishes, the service was below expectation and cleanliness of the cutlery was rather oily wet which been disappointing.

Honkee Porridge @ Taipan, USJ

Honkee Porridge @ Taipan, USJ
59, Jalan USJ 10/1A,
UEP Subang Jaya,
47620 Selangor D.E.

Website: http://www.honkeeporridge.com/

Briefly, Honkee Porridge had been established for three generations starting from their late grandfather Wong Yu Wah. 60 years ago only congee stall in Petaling Street, Kuala Lumpur but now they have six (6) branches across Damansara Uptown, Lot 10 KL, Bandar Puteri Puchong, Kepong, PJ and of cause USJ Taipan.

The outlet in USJ Taipan is just few doors down KFC facing the main road thus its quite visible. They serves warm, moistening and easy to digest porridge where you can have a balance diet meal as well as away from rich, oily and meaty food.

The history of the restaurant can be foun

Simple kopitiam design serving traditional and innovated porridge

Honkee also serves ala-carte fried snacks that you can go together with your porridge

Raw fish sliced (Fresh..!!)
- you can order their famous raw fish sliced separately and put it into you hot porridge so that it cook just nice for taking -

Tang Chai Porridge (Nice)
- famous mix porridge where you have peanut, seaweed, fried ginger strips, salted egg and century egg -

Three Supreme Porridge (Nice)
- combination of salted eggs, century eggs and normal eggs -

Century Egg Porridge (Nice)
- for century egg lovers plus minced meats -

Overall, if you are the first timer there you may find the porridge servings are not hot enough as they have only maintain the warmness in each bowl so that you can have it once on the tables. You can request the servings to be extra heated if you enjoy your porridge to be hot.

Tips: Do you know how to make a moisture yet not over burn porridge at home?
Its very simple, try put a spoon into porridge you are boiling as the heats in the pot will move the spoon at the bottom and reacted as a steerer which keeps the bottom of the porridge from over cooked.

I'm always craving for meat especially BEEF and finally get the hand on WAGYU BEEF which one of the top meat category. The specialty of this restaurant is that they served three kind of beef which range RM40 to RM170 per 100 gram depends on you preference. There of the exclusive Japan KOBE beef, Australia Wagyu Beef grade 7 & 5, and US Black Angus.

First, a brief introduction: Maria’s Cafe was established in Ipoh about 8-9 years ago and their popular homemade food has been a crowd puller ever since. The Petaling Jaya branch is Maria’s second outlet, currently managed by one of the daughters – Mary Ann (insight picture below). Maria served western country style food like steaks, pies, pasta, sausages etc. I rarely feel so excited about my posts so you can only imagine the excellent food Maria’s has to offer

Mary-Ann, managing the place.

Oxtail Soup (Recommended)

Potato and Leek Soup

Chicken Mushroom Soup

Mixed Grill - special..!!
(not in the menu which order upon request)

Australia Wagyu Beef 5 -medium cooked
(Highly Recommended)

This is a place for meat lovers that will not disappoint you as the beef is strictly delicious without any gravy or source being accompanied it. Simply outstanding with its juicy, tender and beefy fragrance upon melt in your mouth.
