Our second breakfast in Singapore. We had another try of prawn noodle but different location. It looks plain as the prawn was separated from the noodles. We are there about 10.30am and is crowded. No doubt, the prawn is better than the previous posting.
Prawn Noodle but the prawn was separated. The bee hoon texture is bigger compared to the normal one. As heard, it was imported from China. I quite like the texture. The soup in incredible as the sweetness of the prawn can be tasted.
Prawns nicely cut into half and served in a bowl of prawn noodle soup. The prawns are big and fresh. Yummy Yummy!!!
A must have chilli (belacan) with dried shallot.
Always try the original soup before adding this chilli...
Lobak - side dish
I don't like this at all as the taste not good.

For their history, you can get more from their website. As you can see, they are established since 1933 and still doing very well and even better. For those who don't know anything about Henghua, here is some brief summary about them.
"Henghua is a minority Chinese dialect of the immigrants from Putien
in Fujian province. The dialect and cuisine are closest to that of
Foochow and Hokkien dialects, but is also unique in its own ways.
Putien is located near the coast, which explains why ingredients
like sea weed, oysters, clams and other seafood are dominant
features in the Henghua cuisine." - extracted from www.mingchung.com.sg
The Restaurant. Being told that the restaurant will be crowded around 6pm till late night.

First day of arrival and we had seafood (crabs) for our dinner. This is another famous delicacies to be tried. Don't missed it!!! Brief introduction to you all that Singapore is also well known by its crab (as I know, their crabs are from Sri Lanka which you can see the size of it). There are variety of cooking which includes black pepper, chilli, steamed, kam heong and many many more.

Back to this prawn noodle which I believe everyone who come to Singapore will tried it but which stall sell good prawn noodle?? Here is one known as Joo Chiat Prawn Mee. Sorry, I were unable to provide you some of the history of this shop. Feel free to leave your comment...
The soup base was cook from the prawn and pork ribs. It taste sweet and yummy. Best of all, the prawn that they serve are big compared to Malaysia's prawn noodle.
Fish cake is one of the must try side order...If I remember correctly, it only cost SGD1.00.
Roti Prata or better known as Roti Canai (Malaysian) is another side dish that you might want to try. But this one taste ordinary.

Overall, Laksa Katong is definitely taste great yet different from those I have tried it in Malaysia so do take your chance and have it whenever you're in Singapore.

Now, there are many types of laksa that we can find in Malaysia such as Nyonya Laksa, Curry Laksa, Assam Laksa, White Curry Laksa and many more that yet to be discover. Among the varieties of laksa, have you tried LAKSA KATONG that can be found in Singapore and apparently quite famous and available in many streets of Singapore.
I visited Bencoolen Street (near Bugis Street) during one of my visit and found this place to tried out their Laksa Katong. From the looks its very similar to white curry laksa but its more flavourful unlike normal white curry. As advice by the owner, they do not provide chopsticks as it will taste better using spoon simply because you must have the noodle together with the sup at one go.
