Newly open shop along Jalan Radin Bagus, Sri Petaling...This is the third Bak Kut Teh shop along the same row of shops...The other Bak Kut Teh shop includes Pao Xiang and Sun Fung...Comparing to both Bak Kut Teh, this takes my credits...However, i prefer Ah Sang Bak Kut Teh @ Sg Way...

The tempting MENU....flip through and you will discover greatness of bak kut teh

Bak Kut Teh (Assorted Pork part) - Soup
This is a single portion which cost RM13.00 per portion...The soup is great but the meat a bit chewy...

Bak Kut Teh (Assorted Pork part) - Dry
The aroma makes me drooling when it served...The best part is the dried cuttlefish being cooked together...yummy!!!!

Chicken Feet - I like this but not all people...

Simmered Yau Mak with Oyster Sauce and Fried Onion

Steam Lala
I don't quite like it as it used the hard shell lala compared to another kind which is thinner shell...If it cooked using Kam Heong style would be much better...

 Kam Heong Pork set
The fragrance and aroma stimulate my appetite...but the "kam heong" sauce could be better

This is much better than Pork Place version

Salted Fish Eggplaant Set (RM13.90)
According to Li Ling, this is good...

Bandar Baru Sri Petaling,
57000 Kuala Lumpur.
Tel: 017-2992509

Rolling around the blocks of Bandar Baru Sri Petaling looking for lunch spots as usual manage to try out new things. Swan Lake, is a Korean base restaurant serving mainly hot stone pot set for lunch. Swan is located at the same row as Chopper Board and Tou Tou which is easily spotted with its pinky theme decoration.

Soup
- coming together with the set, its tasteless in my mouth -

Original BBQ Pork Slice (Not Bad)
- generous portion of pork slice with onion seasoning to the best way. you can select between original, black pepper or spicy as the sauce of the dish -

Spicy Pork Ribs (Not Bad)
- generous portion as well but the pork ribs rather tender and the spiciness is actually due to loads of chilly oil thus quite sinful for lunch -

The sets are serve in hot stone pot which makes the dish heated at all time. be sure to stir it before you enjoy it as will evenly balance the sauces all over the pork.

The promotion lunch set comes together with a fruit juice choice between watermelon, orange or apple, soup and rice with a dish of your choice for only RM12.50 nett per set.

Overall, the set was quite reasonable and its tax free at the moment as it is newly open. But, the taste has more room for improvement minimally ensure the ribs are not so tender.

Restoran Sun Fung Bak Kut Teh @ Seri Petaling (Newly Open Edition)

Restoran Sun Fung Bak Kut Teh
69, Ground Floor, Jalan Radin Bagus,
Zone J5, Bandar Baru Sri Petaling,
57000 Kuala Lumpur

Tel: 013-232 3239 (Fion) / 017-280 4409 (Tommy)

Lunch hunting again with my colleagues in Sri Petaling jump into a new Bak Kut Teh shop that newly open beside Tou Tou Little Kitchen. We just hope to have a porky lunch where we are hungry and satisy our cravings. Slightly sinful for lunch but will guess is ok with some exercise end of the day.

According to Fion, the restaurant is the first branch of well established Sun Fong Bak Kut Teh in Medan Imbi (near Soo Kee Sang Har Mee). Sun Fong (Imbi) had been in business since late 1960's. Their concept of bak kut teh are rather mild and robust herbal aroma which famous to many tourist.

The shop is strategically located with simple design. You can check out its variety of bak kut teh on the walls of the shop. The range of dishes are as follows:
  • Bak kut teh (Original/Special/Vege/No Vege)
  • Special pepper soup (Pig Stomach with pepper soup)
  • Pig's kidney/Pig's liver in ginger wine soup
  • Spiced pig's leg
  • Additional sidelines - intestine, belly, spare ribs, pig tail, ribs, etc.

You can decide to either sit outside (open air) or inside with air conditioning but if you double park, it is advisable to sit outside where visible to you vehicle.

Char Kuey - RM2.00
- rather small portion looking at the price -

Original Bak Kut Teh - RM42.00
(Great) [Recommended]
- the soup are more herbal concentrated where it may not favour to all but for me it taste quite well as i prefer herbal as compare to sweet porky soup. Its charging RM14.00 per pax so order accordingly -

The special thing about the place is that the claypot is being put on a stand with fire below keeping the pot warm for most of the time when you eat it.

Pig's Triple in Pepper Soup - RM13.00
- personally not bad but it would taste better if slightly stronger pepper taste -

Soft Ribs - RM11.00
- addition of soft ribs in bak kut teh -

Spiced Pig's Leg - RM12.00
(Nice)
- unlike normal braised spicy pig's leg with chef's innovative formula and the pig's leg is soft and juicy inside -

Stir-Fried Lettuce - RM8.00
Overall, I would praise their service had been outstanding, friendly and attentive throughout our dinning. The restaurant only serve white rice which do not have yam or oil rice whereby slightly costly because it cost RM1.50 per bowl of rice which consider small in terms of the portion. Despite the pros and cons will sure to attract spectrum of customers that favour their style of bak kut teh.
