This is one of our featured post for the month...Previously there is an write up by one of our blogger (Yenky): Restoran Amboi. Is my time to write something about it as this is my first visit to here...Oh ya, the owner/the cook known as Kenny. Well, this is family run business and the crowd was promising although there are some nearby Nyonya restaurant around like Restaurant Ole Sayang, Restoran Nyonya Makko and Seri Nyonya @ Equatorial Hotel.

Fine...back to Restoran Amboi...The food is really authentic and the ingredients are fresh.

Eggplant Chilli Garam

The flavor & fragrance of this dish tempts me...It is a bit spicy.

Asam Prawn

The asam flavor did not absorbed into the prawn but this is a great dish to try out... Hope they can improve on the asam prawn taste.

Cincalok Ommelette

Cincalok are made of fermented small shrimps...Eggs are mixed with cincalok, vegetable & onion. Yummy!!

Asam Fish Head

The fish head are so fresh and the asam gravy are appetizing.

Ikan Tempra

The fish being deep fried and cooked with sauce...This is great!!!

Here is another well known food in Taiping - Fried Chicken...If compared to KFC, this would be my favourite...They business hour starts from 6.30pm to 9.30pm (closing hour depending on the quantity for the day). Normally, the chicken sold out within minutes...Most of the local will make telephone calls to make order while some will just order from there and wait...

My favourite and also my grandpa favourite...I also like their chicken wing and the chicken skin. It makes me drool everytime and also when I am blogging it...

This has been about 30 - 40 years back. This stall offers variety of dishes where they sell mixed rice (economy rice). When Chinese festive around the corner, lots of people will order the roast chicken and roast duck. Even from Kuala Kangsar, the customers will come to buy the roast chicken and roast duck. It is advisable to pre-order first than disappointment. The price might varies depend on market and festive seasons.
