Selera NJ @ Temerloh Reststop, Karak Highway

Selera NJ
(Temerloh Reststop, Karak Highway)
No 10, RSA Temerloh Arah Timur
RSA Temerloh Arah Barat
Temerloh
, Pahang

When I was travelling towards Kuantan via Karak Highway, came across Temerloh rest stop for some toilet break and brunch before continuing our journey. It was recommended by couple of colleagues about the place decided to try it since coming across the place.

Temerloh rest stop is pretty well developed whereby many stalls selling simple halal foods catering travellers like me.

Nasi lemak is common food for Malay race but the culture had been greatly adopted across all races in Malaysia. We have it for breakfast, lunch, dinner even supper sometimes thou it contain high calories but enjoy it always. Looking simple dish but is hard to master because the rice and the sambal must be balance and it compliments each another.

Nasi Lemak (Great)
[Recommended]
- together with chicken, egg and sambal. The rice is beautifully cook with great fragrance of santan (coconut milk) and not sticky. Most flavourful of all is the anchovies sambal where you can see the whole anchovies with its spiciness going so well with the rice -

Anchovies Sambal (Great)
- unlike many I tasted in Klang Valley, this is something belong to the East Cost continent flavour and style -

Overall, enjoying the typical East Cost style of nasi lemak makes the journey to Kuantan more exciting.

Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng Panas Panas! @ Wang Food Court, Malacca

Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng Panas Panas!
Gerai Makanan 1,
Wang Food Court,
Jalan Tun Sri Lanang,
75100 Malacca.

Specialty is the ayam goreng rempah (marinated herbs fried chicken). Unfortunately, I reached there late and their specialty had been sold out. So no choice to try other dishes.

Several types of dishes they have other than their specialty

Sardine + Egg + Anchovies + Rice = RM4.00

Squid + Stingray + Anchovies = RM4.50

Chicken + Vegetables + Anchovies = RM3.00

Overall, I quite like it although their ayam goreng rempah is sold out.

Satay Celup Ban Lee Siang @ Jalan Ong Kim Wee, Malacca

Kedai Makanan & Miniuman Ban Lee Siang
45-E, Jalan Ong Kim Wee
75300 Malacca
Tel: 06-2841935
Website: http://www.boom68.com/restoranbanleesiang/
Business hour: 5:00pm to 12:00am (daily)

This should be my second time here...As claimed, they had been here since 1989 and runs by the Chua family members. Besides, they serve more than 50 types of food choices...Anyway, regardless of how long they exist, main concern is their sustainability as the market is so competitive nowadays especially a tourist attraction city...Well, not so much about that and directly to the food.

All you need to do is to pick from the refrigerator...Kind of like fresh and they don't serve beef...

Variety of choices can be selected and the above is some of my favorite choices

This is their main STAR..The peanut sauce (better know as "sate" sauce) and that is why it known as satay celup...

All you need to do is to dip your selection of food (sticks) into the satay sauce and wait till it cook...How to determine it is cooked properly? ~ just based on your own judgement...

Klebang Coconut Shake @ Klebang Besar, Malacca

Klebang Coconut Shake
Along Jalan Klebang Besar
(Just situated next to Caltex station)

If you use Garmin GPS device, look for Klebang Caltex Station....It will take you to this place...First time I heard it from Chong Lim and Si Jie about this drink...Thanks to Chong Lim who drove me all the way to this place to have their coconut shake...

One of the owner chopping off the coconut to get the coconut water out...Great skills!!!
They do sell coconut water as well...

The worker preparing the delicious coconut shake...I notice one thing is that they have a electric meter at their stall by the roadside...wondering how they do that....as for other roadside stall operator only use generator...

Coconut water + Coconut flesh + "Walls" Vanilla Ice Cream + Ice = COCONUT SHAKE
Perfectly blend coconut shake and great to serve during hot weather...CHILL !!!!

Remember to try their nasi lemak bungkus...it cost only RM1.00 each...
The sambal belacan is so hot but so nice....After this, you will have the coconut shake = PERFECT

A basket of nasi lemak, fried noodles and some local kuih muih serve there....
