Jia - Food For the Season @ First World Hotel, Genting Highlands

Jia - Food For the Seasons
This shop is located at First World Plaza. There is variety of hawker stall in this place. We tried sizzling claypot and porridge.
Claypot Chicken Rice (RM13.20++)
This is nice but slightly salty. The ingredient is not that much.
Fish Porridge (RM13.00++)
At first, I ordered Frogleg porridge but it is sold out. What a pity to me!!! They only left Fish porridge...The fish is being fried first before it is put into the porridge. This taste good.
Boiled Sugar Cane (RM5.00++)
This is really expensive...but no choice la.

As recommended by many friends as well being blogged in several sites, finally decided to take a dinner of mine to that place. The restaurant is visible from left side NKVE highway from Damansara towards Subang Jaya which near Baywatch Restaurant. Ambiance of the restaurant was simple american style decor and the place was pretty occupied thus it is advisable to make reservation prior visit else you might be stranded waiting.

Prominent Classical Meatloaf

Juicy & Tender Pork Shoulder

Pork Ribs in Betty style
Definitely a place that I would love to re-visit for more of their porkie choices (^_^)v

New Orleans Barbecue @ Genting Highlands, Pahang

This restaurant is located at Genting Hotel. To be exact, it is situated inside Monte Carlo Casino. For your information, no cameras are allowed but camera phone is fine. Make sure don't snap any picture around casino. Well, back to the food. New Orleans Barbecue is a non-halal restaurant. Surprisingly, there are a lot of people who dine-in here. I would say the price here is more reasonable than other restaurants in Genting Highlands.
Baby Back Pork Rib (1/2 slab) - RM38.00
The pork rib is slowly grilled to perfection. Just imagine, the pork rib is grilled under the fire and the sauce being swept on the pork rib layer by layer until cook.
Banger & Mash -RM28.00
This pork sausage consist of 3 flavours. It is hard to describe the taste but it is really nice. The mash potato is perfect even without the brown sauce.
Soft Shell Crab - RM12.00
Well, many people would thought this is kind of chicken wings instead of soft shell crab due to photo angle. Well, the fragrance of the soft shell crab makes me drool.

James Chicken Rice @ Seksyen 17, Happy Mansion, PJ

James Chicken Rice
[within Restaurant Choon Yien]
CG-1, Happy Mansion Apartments
Jalan 17/13, Section 17
46400 Petaling Jaya
Operating hours: 11 am to 1 pm
Tel: +6016 - 280 9043 (James)

Although chickcen rice is the most common and seems easy to make yet one of the most famous lunch in local Malaysian. However, there is always saying that the easiest is always the hardest and to cook a perfect chicken rice meal is not as easy as it seems. In my opinion there are three (3) aspect of chicken rice set to be consider delicious which are the combination of (1) rice, (2) chicken and (3) the chilly sauce.

The restaurant is easily spotted at the corner of Happy Mansion Apartment but finding a table during lunch time may not be easy as the place normally will be pack of peoples.

You may be surprise that there are no chickens hanging there unlike those normal chicken rice stall. This is because the owner will roast the chicken while selling to ensure the customers enjoy the meal while it is still hot and juicy. The consideration presented really should be accredited because it really makes a different.

Special oil rice fragrant with garlic and ginger residue, typical sourish spicy chilly sauce (its really distinctive) to be paired with the chicken and complementary soup of the day to nourish your meal.

Unmatchable chicken which is juicy and tender with crispy skin. Although I have chicken brest which proclaim by many to be the tough and not being preferred. However, still enjoy it very much because it still taste piping hot succulent thus no matter which part of chicken you're having here will sure to a little extraordinary.

“Boon Fei Sao” (half fat and half lean) char siu will be a default order because too much fat is gross while the leanest pieces are not always tender. Char siu here is just nice coated with sweet soy based gravy.
Another top order at these place is the spicy and sour "Khai Choi" which will escalate your appetite to have more of it.

Definitely will revisit the place for lunch as the chicken and char siu taste still very much perched under my taste buds.

Lammeeya @ Empire Subang

Lammeeya
LG31 Empire Shopping Gallery

First time visit and introduced by my colleague, Yen. Thanks for bringing me here... There are variety of food but just need to prepare some cash. I would say it is slightly expensive at first look at its menu but once the food is served, it just looks fine. We are paying for the food as well as the environment. What is so famous in here? Of course is Lam Mee. Lam Mee is a peranakan cuisine or better known as Nyonya cuisine. Lam Mee is long yellow rice noodles cooked in a rich gravy made from the stock of prawns and chicken. It is always served at birthdays to wish the birthday boy or girl a long life, and is also known as birthday noodles.
Lam Mee
Vinegar Pork Trotters
The taste is not bad but lack of some ooohm!!!
Stew Pork Belly with Potato
This is really good expecially the sauce. The potato cuts is a bit too thick.
Steam Rice in Claypot
Their practice is that each claypot of rice is cook seperately
Homemade Soy Bean
You wouldn't taste sweet as no sugar added. Their serve in cold (refridgerated & not ice cube) and hot
