Kedai Makanan Dan Minuman G W @ Taman Melaka Baru, Malacca

Kedai Makanan & Minuman G W
Jalan Merak, Taman Melaka Baru
75350 Malacca.

Our breakfast at 11.00am and the below is what we had...DIM SUM....The variety of choice is quite limited and it doesn't quite good enough for me...

Siew Mai & Lobak
Taste good for both...

Carrot cake and "fu chuk"
Taste normal and the "fu chuk" is so oily...

Char Siew Pau
I like the char siew stuffed into the pao...it's dice instead of shredded..

Chee Cheong Fun ~ Tasteless

Wu Kok (Yam Dumpling)

Bacon Barbeque @ Jalan Kubu, Malacca

Bacon Barbecue
Jalan Kubu (in front of the performance stage)

Is not hard to locate the stalls as it is in front of the famous Jonker Street performance stage where along Jonker Boutique Hotel. Pork bacon is one my my favourite especially strips being toasted under hot charcoal bbq style, simple yet delicious.

Strips of pork bacon being wrap with quail's egg, crabsticks, meatballs, sausages and etc. then being perfectly grill.
This is just wonderful and fantastic for people like me that like to eat and walk at the same time.

Kedai Kopi Mei Sin Cafe @ Jalan Bunga Raya, Malacca

Kedai Kopi Mei Sin Cafe
Jalan Bunga Raya,
75300 Malacca.

Exact location is just right beside Renaissance Hotel, Malacca...This coffee shop sells local food like Nyonya laksa, wan tan mee, nyonya chang, siew mai, hailam satay and much more...Being introduced by Uncle Choo...As I love to try out all sort of food...Here I am...

Nyonya Chang ~ is different from normal Bak Chang...Anyway, I prefer the normal Bak Chang but this is also great!!!

Nyonya laksa ~ sourish and lemak (mixed with coconut milk)...lovely...if the lemak slightly more would be better...

Malacca wan tan mee ~ is white in color compared to other place which uses dark soya sauce ...plain but good...it comes with wan tan and I added sui kow...I prefer the sui kow in Balakong as they put more pepper into it...As claimed by the aunty of this wan tan mee stall, the sui kow is based on her own recipe!!!

Satay Hailam (pork) ~ this is better than Ming Hut Sate...

Tel: 60-6283 1966

Operating hours:

Went down Melacca for some work related purposes which then overrun our lunch time whereby only manage to reach the shop about 2.30pm. We are lucky that the owner accepted our order and finally manage to sat down for a meal.

The shop's ambiance is quite cozy although not much customers in the shop looking at the time. Detailed decorative items such as the lantern, the Chinese word billboard, the lighting, and tables and chairs resemble the homy nyonya style in the olden years.

Basket of rice whereby you eat all you can..!!!

Nyonya Otak-Otak
- all time favorite but i feel the otak-otak in Muar is slightly better -

Nyonya Rendang Chicken (Good)

Belancan KangKung
- All time favourites, how can you miss that -

Assam Fish "Jenak" (Recommended)

Nyonya Chendol

Its a nice place and once again Thank You the owner for being so nice allowing us to chip in after his operating hours. I really favor nyonya food therefore my choice of selection is quite particular so may not be the best Nyonya food that I have tried but definitely is one of the famous in Malacca that you can tried some local taste with reasonable price.

The fish meat is too hard...probably it haven't defrost...the gravy is not up to my expectation..I prefer the Taragon cook

Capitol Delicious Seafood @ Malacca

Capitol Delicious Seafood
Back Alley near Mdm King’s,
Jalan Bunga Raya,
Malacca.

Open from 7 – 11 pm.
Closed on Tuesdays

This is something special and may know try by many because its located at the back alley of the shop lots. Have to admit is rather dirty and have hygiene issue but its quite famous because its been introduce by many people even tv programs like "Taste with Jason" and "Ho Chiak".

Basically opens only at night providing street foods like cockles, clams, squid kangkung, bbq squid and rojak. There are 2 stalls along the alley side by side and servings identical foods so is up to you to decide which to try. Don't be surprise that many customers crowded the place till they sold off every single cockles and clams.

Yes, its really back alley and you might see rats crawling in the drains.

The kitchen of the restaurant, mainly operates by veterans. if you wish to have more "feel" in eating here, try dining at their low tables and chairs where you need to squad while you eat. As you observe, holes had been customise at the center of the table with bucket in it so that you could dispose the cockles and clam shelf in it.

Homemade Sauce (Nice)
- goes well with the cockles and clams -

Cockles (Nice)
- best when it is half raw and half cooked for those cockles' lover -

Clams (Nice)

Rojak (Nice)
- unlike ordinary rojak but its being sauce with their homemade dressing thus makes it special -

Squid KangKung (Nice)
- dress with their special sauce and seasoning -
Overall, ratings are given to their originality in operating the business and its uniqueness of location with fairly good taste servings. Despite the cleanliness of the location, you will experience something different especially to those city citizens.

Klebang Coconut Shake @ Klebang Besar, Malacca

Klebang Coconut Shake
Along Jalan Klebang Besar
(Just situated next to Caltex station)

If you use Garmin GPS device, look for Klebang Caltex Station....It will take you to this place...First time I heard it from Chong Lim and Si Jie about this drink...Thanks to Chong Lim who drove me all the way to this place to have their coconut shake...

One of the owner chopping off the coconut to get the coconut water out...Great skills!!!
They do sell coconut water as well...

The worker preparing the delicious coconut shake...I notice one thing is that they have a electric meter at their stall by the roadside...wondering how they do that....as for other roadside stall operator only use generator...

Coconut water + Coconut flesh + "Walls" Vanilla Ice Cream + Ice = COCONUT SHAKE
Perfectly blend coconut shake and great to serve during hot weather...CHILL !!!!

Remember to try their nasi lemak bungkus...it cost only RM1.00 each...
The sambal belacan is so hot but so nice....After this, you will have the coconut shake = PERFECT

A basket of nasi lemak, fried noodles and some local kuih muih serve there....

Lao Qian Ice Cafe @ San Shu Gong Building, Malacca

Lao Qian Ice Cafe
(inside San Shu Gong Building)
33 Lorong Hang Jebat, Melaka

After exhaustive Jonker Street walk during evening, there is nothing much better than to enjoy a refreshing cold juice and icy cool cendol to rejuvenate yourselves for more exciting journey in Malacca.

Initially, just intended to step in San Shu Gong Building to get some souvenirs such as biscuit kai cai, their instant coffee and other biscuits. Notice that many customer sitting down and enjoying Lao Qian's Durian Cendol thus decided to take a try.

Splashing Honey Lime Juice (Great)
[Recommended]
- its definitely thirst crunching after a walk under hot sun along Jonker Streets, its sourish sweet with some lime savor -

Durian Cendol (Not Bad)
- ordinary cendol with extraordinary durian but personally I feel not enough durian inside. Its a great dessert for people like me after such tiring walk -

Overall, I really like the juice but the cendol can be further improved with more durian in it.
